Worried about afterlife?
Do you ever wonder about the afterlife? How often do we scratch our heads thinking about what will happen when we die? But here we aren’t talking about the soul; we’re speaking of the body. Of course, we all know, our bodies are buried after death. But what if your body can still live after you’ve died? Yes, this is possible now. A revolutionary technology allows you to become a tree after you’re gone. So finally, when you’re resting in peace, you’re actually becoming one with nature, in quite a literal sense. Here’s what’s trending – organic burial pods.
Traditionally, burial means a wooden coffin, a headstone, and a peaceful cemetery. Yet you lie there lifeless, don’t you? Now is the time to say goodbye to the big and bulky coffins. Enter ‘organic burial pods’, also known as Bios Urns. These are biodegradable pods that will transform your mortal remains, or say your body, into a tree! Sounds wow! You can now swap your tombstone with leafy branches because Italy has designed these pods that are on the verge of replacing traditional cemeteries with sacred gardens and forests. Imagine each tree in these woodlands representing a life once lived. Sounds fascinating but how does it work?
The simple yet genius concept works on the idea of planting a seed. It is a brainchild of Italian designers Anna Citelli and Raoul Bretzel who came up with the ‘Capsula Mundi’ Project under which they plan to ‘redesign the coffin.’ Herein, your corpse will be placed in an egg-shaped capsule made of biodegradable material. A seed or a sapling will be placed above this and as the human body decomposes, it will nourish the tree that ‘comes out of it’. In short, even after you’re gone, your remains will flourish into a living, breathing part of nature. And besides, this will promote sustainability. Rather than cutting trees to make wooden coffins, it will instead grow more trees helping the environment. You can give back to the environment in a literal sense.
So if you’re thinking coffins are a very dull and depressing mark you’d leave behind, these burial pods will turn you into a peaceful green sanctuary where your loved ones can visit you. They don’t need to go looking for your memories in those gray, cold graveyards anymore. Such a powerful and poetic way to leave a legacy! Ever since the news of organic burial pods made by Italian researchers came out, it has gone viral on social media. Netizens are balled over the thought of becoming a cherry blossom or a mighty oak instead of resting on a coffin.
So, what do you think? Would you trade a coffin for a canopy, resting beneath lush green leaves instead of grey stone? Well, who wouldn’t want to be remembered as something that continues to grow and give life?
